Handwoven Reversible Jacket with Corduroy Trim
This reversible jacket is made by hand at our atelier from handwoven fabrics woven by us over the course of days.
Res Ipsa Fall/Winter collection is made from our own custom handwoven cotton fabric. It’s slow fashion in the best sense because it is painstakingly woven by us and we make only what we need. Each weaver can produce about 3-5 meters of fabric a day.
The jacket features a specific type of weaving: Bouclé. This is a textured weaving technique that uses looped yarns to create a fabric with a curly, knobby appearance. The term "bouclé" comes from the French word for "curl" or "loop," describing the distinctive loops that appear across the surface of the textile. Bouclé yarns are typically made by spinning multiple strands together, with one strand held loosely to form the characteristic loops, while other strands are twisted tightly to keep the structure stable.
A unique fact about bouclé’s texture is that it hides wear and tear exceptionally well. Small snags or imperfections blend into the loops, making it ideal for creating long-lasting, vintage-inspired pieces.
